The Geoff Clark award 2024 - Dr Kat Shelley

The School is pleased to announce that the Geoff Clark award for 2023-2024 has been awarded to Dr Kat Shelley.

Kat joined the school as ST3 in 2015 achieving many of the requirements of both he 2010 and 2021 curriculum. During her time out of programme, Kat has always remained engaged and in regular communication with the School. Her contributions to the non-clinical aspects, whilst shielding as both a doctor and a patient, has been recognised nationally. She was awarded the AAGBI trainee Well-being Initiative award in 2021 for her work on "KeepWellNHS".

Kat is a talented photographer and via her website, kshelleyphotography.com and local exhibitions, she continues to raise funds for Velindre Hospital making a difference to the patient experience at this local centre of excellence.

Kat is a well respected colleague and the School feel that her demonstration of determination and motivation to maintain huge job satisfaction, performing at a level well beyond her stage of training is an exceptional achievement. She continues to be an incredible and inspiring example to many trainees and trainers across Wales, despite the challenges faced and is a very worthy winner of this prestigious award.
