Dr Suzi Braggins wins the Geoff Clarke award, 2026

The School is delighted to announce the winner of the prestigious 2026 Geoff Clarke award.
Dr Suzi Braggins is this years successful winner with many high quality entries across perioperative and pre-hospital medicine, research and paediatric anaesthesia. All the high quality entries were worthy of the title but after careful consideration, an exceptional winner was chosen.
Suzi has excelled in a year spent out of programme working in tertiary paediatrics at London's Evelina hospital. The unique and career defining experience highlights the huge benefits in seeking opportunities outside of the training programme, despite the challenges of life upheaval.
Suzi has shared fascinating stories of caring for tiny neonates, undertaking renal transplants in small children and managing awake hernias in children under spinal anaesthesia. She has truly found her niche and her stories will be inspiring to many residents in Wales who have similar aspirations.
Congratulations Suzi, a fantastic year out of programme with huge benefit to your professional development.
