Transfer Courses - Spaces available!

There are available places on the free Wales one day transfer course (Part B) which will be run in The Grange University Hospital on the below dates : April 10th 2025 June 9th 2025 September 19th 2025 December 2nd 2025 Please use the link below to express an interest in attending. Transfer Course You will be allocated a date to attend only if you have completed the Part A online course which is available via the ESR under "000 NHS Wales - Transfer Course". The material for both courses (Part A and B) is also available on the transfer pages of the Welsh School of Anaesthesia website.

US Regional Anaesthesia Course 16th April 2025 - all levels.

The Welsh School of Anaesthesia has now built links with The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic NHS Foundation Trust based in Oswestry. We have trainees from the North of Wales who are spending periods of time focussing on skills in regional anaesthesia to support the requirements of the RCoA 2021 curriculum with excellent feedback. The School would like to promote a regional anaesthesia course which will be delivered by this specialist centre in April 2025 for all Stages of training. The centre is keen to showcase to all Wales trainees the opportunities available in regional anaesthesia with the potential to discuss with trainers Special Interest areas in orthopaedics and regional anaesthesia. Guidance for Evidencing Paediatric Key Capabilities in 2021 Curriculum

The APAGBI have just published valuable new guidance to support the curriculum requirements for all Stages of training in paediatric anaesthesia. The guidance has been produced in conjunction with the RCoA/APA with the support of Dr Mari Roberts and Dr Gethin Pugh who are both Wales anaesthetists. It consists of suggested reading, a variety of podcasts and tutorials and an excellent paediatric anaesthesia for beginner’s guide. Patient Safety in Perioperative Practice

Anaesthetists in Training are invited to submit an abstract for e-presentation at the virtual Patient Safety in Perioperative Practice meeting. Four abstracts will be selected by a panel to present their poster orally and have the opportunity to win a prize. A trainee must be the lead author. Posters should fall under the theme of 'Patient Safety and / or Quality Improvement'. The closing date for entries is midnight on Monday 13 January 2025. A panel of RCoA judges will assess all submissions shortly after the closing date. Authors will be notified week commencing 3 February 2025 if they have been invited to display their poster at the Patient Safety in Perioperative Practice conference.
