SWAC - Final FRCA Intensive Viva Course, Oct 2026

The next Final FRCA SOE revision course will be on Friday 16th October 2026 at the Friars Education centre, The Royal Gwent hospital, Newport. If you would like to attend and have either already passed the written or are sitting it at the next sitting, please use the booking link below. Final FRCA SWAC Please email Catherine.griffiths6@wales.nhs.uk for any queries. Priority will be given to those who have already passed the written exam. If there are any senior trainees available on that day to be examiners please also get in touch. Regional Anaesthesia courses 2026-2027

Welsh School Regional Anaesthesia courses for the next year have now been finalised. These courses will all be delivered at the National Imaging Academy Wales (NIAW, CF35 5HY) which is based in a central location along the M4 corridor for ease of access. Dates for Stages 1 and 2 courses are highlighted below. Booking is now live for the September course and further links will be added soon to book a place. The Study Leave FAQs document is designed to support decision making and developing a consistent approach across Wales for residents. The FAQs is not an exhaustive list and there will continue to be individual discussions between residents, college tutors and the School. Peer Mentor training. June 2nd 2026

The Welsh School of Anaesthesia alongside the Professional Support Unit are offering free, formal mentorship training. This would enable you to become a recognised peer mentor supporting fellow resident anaesthetic trainees in Wales in their return to work. The peer mentoring scheme is one of the Welsh School of Anaesthesia initiatives aiming to improve the support offered to trainees returning to work from prolonged leave for whatever reason.
